Bring Your “A” Game, Inc. aka byagi

Simply put, byagi is a state of mind that describes a level of effort.

I get the question all the time.  What does byagi mean or stand for?  Here I give a more in depth answer of what it means to me and our company.

Do you byagi every day?  Because I believe that when you live with the highest expectations for yourself every moment of your life; then winning, or turning the page when you lose without regret is possible.  When your “C” game shows up, which it will, having a byagi state of mind will help carry you through.  When you bring it, then the outcome is always right.  Some days you win, some days you lose.  The intent, the effort, is always there and that is what is important.

Have you ever heard of the Hollywood A List?  Have you ever heard sports broadcasters talk about someone bringing their “A” game?  It is unforgettable, it is something you can physically see in a performance of any kind.  Those times when people are able to tap into the best of what they have and operate in a zone of perfection.  “A” game is to go above and beyond the norm.  Byagi, the company, has been developed in the same way.  Who else has made user-friendly, design centric financial software for the business of entertainment?  Who else has made financial software for the industry that everyone on the production shares and collaborates with?  It is time to take the production business of Hollywood to the next level.

Byagi has been built to serve an industry and evolve a business process.  Growing up with my twin brother we spent hours on the basketball court, running, playing tennis, etc.  We constantly pushed each other to get better.  It seemed only natural to name the company Byagi when it was suggested.  I like to think that ideas move through us but only when we allow those ideas and information to flow.  The following are some thoughts and guidelines of the ways we like to bring our “A” game to work everyday.

• What does bring your “A” game mean?  byagi means, balance education with practical experience.
• What does bring your “A” game mean?  byagi means, be the best you can be (not better than anyone else) win or lose.
• What does bring your “A” game mean?  byagi means, create a learning environment where calculated risks are taken and failure is seen as part of being great.
• What does bring your “A” game mean?  byagi means, your intent, no matter how bad it seems, is to make the best of every situation, no matter how useless it may seem.  You never know when the momentum is going to turn.
